Oppo Find X7 Ultra satellite communication version finally launching

Oppo has launched the Find X7 Ultra in early 2024, promising the first dual-periscope camera and satellite communication version. Three months later, the company finally delivered on that promise, and the version is available on China Telecom’s website.

The carrier’s listing revealed a new model number, more storage and a new price tag that reflects the increased features

The phone with model number PHY120 will have 1 TB of storage – double that of the current top version in the Chinese market. The new Find X7 Ultra variant is priced at CNY7,999 (over $1,100), a 15% increase over the current price of a 16/512 GB variant.

Satellite communication allows the phone to connect directly to a satellite orbiting above Earth for calls and messages, unlike a cellular phone that has to connect to a cell tower connected to a comms hub, which is then connected to the satellite.

Oppo doesn’t plan to bring the Find X7 Ultra outside of China, but the next generation of the Find series will be international.

We also don’t know the official shipping date of Find X7 Ultra with satellite connectivity.
