Huawei’s new Kirin 9010 brings minor CPU improvements

Huawei announced the entire 70 series today, and again offered no details on the chipsets. However, early benchmarks have confirmed that they feature a new platform called the Kirin 9010, which has an 8-core CPU, which is identified as a 12-core unit due to hyperthreading by apps.

Hyperthreading is nothing new in the chipset industry, as Taishan Core has been supporting the technology for some time; It is part of the Kirin 9000 and now a part of the 9010.

The original octa-core combination of the Kirin 9010 is: one 2.30 GHz Taishan Big, three 2.18 GHz Taishan Mid and four 1.55 GHz Cortex-A510. The GPU remains the Maleon 910 at 750 MHz.
