Leaked iPhone 16 Pro schematics show the Capture Button

A source close to 91Mobile has leaked what appears to be a rough iPhone 16 Pro schematic, showing the usual design with some minor changes. The report has the right dimensions, indicating on a large screen. But first things first. Here are the leaked images.

As you can see, the iPhone 16 Pro is depicted with the so-called capture button placed below the power button on the right side of the frame. The button itself mimics the soft shutter button found on cameras. A light press will focus the camera, while a full press will take a picture. Sony phones had it a while back.

Additionally, the leak reports new dimensions – 149.6 x 71.4 x 8.4 mm, which means the 16 Pro will be slightly taller and slightly wider. This supports an earlier report that the iPhone 16 Pro will launch with a 6.3-inch screen, up from last year’s 6.1-inch panel. Also, the schematics show some skinnier bezels, so we could see a larger iPhone 16 Pro.

The decision to enlarge the smaller Pro this year may be due to design limitations. There is a rumor that the iPhone 16 Pro will adopt the triple prism telephoto camera from last year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the hardware may not fit inside the existing iPhone 15 Pro.

Interestingly, this leak appears to be a direct contrast to the leaked image from February showing a vertical camera stack.

Either way, we’re a long way from the release of the original iPhone 16 series in September, so we treat every leak with a healthy dose of skepticism.
