Tecno Pova 6 Pro battery life test

In 2013, Samsung launched the Galaxy Gear – a smartwatch with a rectangular screen that was followed by the Gear 2 and Gear Live in the same form factor, but since then, the company seems to be fully committed to round smartwatches. And yet, if a new report today is to be believed, that’s about to change soon.

Allegedly, the Korean company will once again make square or rectangular smartwatches, though this time they will definitely be Galaxy Watch branded.

The idea is now being “enthusiastically” considered internally at Samsung and “it’s very much on the cards that the Switch” (in a square/rectangular shape) is “going to happen”, the report claims.

What’s unfortunately not known is whether the new rectangular Galaxy Watch will be the Galaxy Watch 7 launching alongside Samsung’s next-gen foldable in early July, or if we’ll have to wait a year until 2025 to see it.

If this is indeed happening, expect to hear a lot more about it in the near future, so stay tuned.
