Apple will announce new iMac at the end of October, iPads in March

There has been some speculation as to whether Apple will unveil a new iPad this month, but that seems unlikely right now. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will announce new Mac hardware at the very end of the month — on the 30th or 31st — while the new iPad won’t arrive until March 2024.

According to Gurman’s report, Apple will update the 24-inch iMac with new processors and possibly announce an upgrade to the MacBook Pro. It’s possible that Apple is set to announce the M3 chip and bring it to the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. Of course, we could be in for an M2-refresh of the 24-inch iMac, which only offers the M1 chip when it launches in 2021.

Gurman also said Apple won’t announce new iPad hardware this year. Instead, it’s working on several models — an M2 upgrade for the iPad Air, an iPad mini with an A15 Bionic, and a special bump to the entry-level iPad — that will likely happen in March next year.

Apple is also said to be working on the biggest redesign of the iPad since the launch of the Pro models in 2018. These will likely be OLED-equipped models, which are on track for release in 2024.
